I know there is a lot of debate going on right now, and many of you are using this time at home to NOT wear a bra. My opinion on this, of course, is biased. I am Team Bra. After all, I do own the Irotica brand, and I feel it is my duty to let you know we don’t make bras to torture you or make you feel uncomfortable. Actually, we are always looking for ways to make bras quite the opposite. We want to help you FEEL and look your best from the inside out…even if you are currently spending more time inside than outside.
From the multitude of comments, I’ve seen on the subject lately, I have to assume that I’m the only person in the world who feels more comfortable when I am wearing a bra?
Breasts are heavy and over a long period of time going braless will affect your posture and may lead to hunching in some people. A bra does help to prevent the skeletal and posture problems that can come about as a result of not wearing one for a prolonged period.
I put this list together of the 7 reasons to wear a bra @home:
1. Gravity still exists at home.
2. You can’t hide your nipples on a Zoom conference.
3. Feel in control. Reduce the floppiness. No matter how small you are, floppiness is not flattering nor comfortable.
4. Feel more awake and ready to take on the world with a bra on.
5. In this time of uncertainty, why not let a bra help you feel supported and secure?
6. Nipple chafing is a real pain.
7. The lockdown is not going to last forever. When it’s time to go out again, do you really want boob droop?
Wearing a bra can help to stop premature sagging, as it means that the connective tissue within the breast isn't stretched as much throughout the day. At the end of the day no one will see us during the lockdown and so people can be tempted to not dress up. However, wearing no bra at all can cause breasts to sag if the tissue is left with no support. Unfortunately, 80% of women are wearing the wrong size bra with it being either too small or too big in the back. If you’re wearing the right bra, it shouldn’t need to be taken off.
The bra's main function is to support the weight and structure of the breast. However, women often have a lot of tension and stiffness localised where the bra strap is placed. Tight bras can also severely affect the ribcage, as well as cause back and neck pain. If bra straps are loose and the back strap is tight, it will result in incorrect balance. People often rely on the wrong bit of the bra - the back strap - without thinking of the uplift support. For example, if you’re wearing an underwire bra without straps, it’s virtually pointless.
End of statement…Bras are essential.
Stay safe. Stay healthy. Stay supported with your bra on.
